If you need to return client funds, LawPay provides two easy ways for you to manage the transaction. When returning funds on the same day, you can void the payment entirely. Even if more than a day has passed, you can refund client payments with just a click.
Payment management, made easy
Charges or unearned fees are easily returned to the cardholder based on the original transaction. Refunds are reported and linked to the initial payment to establish a payment history and updated balance.
Void a transaction
To return a payment the same day a transaction was run, you can easily void it. Voiding simply cancels a transaction and will save you any processing fees or percentage rate based on the dollar amount that was run.
Issue a refund
After one day, you can issue a refund, for the full amount or a partial amount, for up to six months from the time the transaction was run. Charges or unearned fees are easily returned to the cardholder based on the original transaction.
Easy reconciliation
If you issue a client refund, the refunded amount is reported and linked to the original payment in your LawPay account to establish a clear payment history and updated balance.
